From the series Bearing Light, a portfolio of twelve woodblock prints, published by Okeanos Editions, Los Angeles in 1990. Signed, dated, titled and numbered in pencil verso. One of six artist’s proofs aside from the edition of 30.

The artist has described the series as, a response to the physical act of printing: an image that leaves it's own trace of weight on the paper. I wanted to return to the origins of printing: wood ink and paper. Several of the prints carry the traces of the nails with which the wooden plates were assembled, similar to the cut-outs pioneered by Gauguin and Munch.
