John O'Connor RCA RE RWS (1913 - 2004)
John O'Connor was born in Leicester in 1913. He studied at the Royal College of Art under Eric Ravillious and John Nash. He illustrated many books and had his work in many exhibitions. From 1948 to 1964 O'Connor was Head of Colchester College of Art. His work is held at the Arts Council, The Tate Gallery, and British Museum.
Julian Opie (1958)
Opie graduated in 1982 from Goldsmiths, University of London, where he was taught by conceptual artist and painter Michael Craig-Martin. He is best known for his portraits and animated walking figures, rendered with minimal detail in black line drawing, are hallmarks of the artist's style.
Bill Orchard (1940)
In the 1960's & 70's Bill became a major part of the British Pop scene albeit behind the lens of a camera, capturing The Beatles, The Stones, David Bowie, Marc Bolan, Michael Jackson along with many other famous people.
